Arrowed Poor Mans Grizzly!
 

Yesterday I shot a big wild hog here in Alabama. Its the fifth in two years I've killed on this tract of land. They are taking over this property. I'm guessing he weighed about 175 lbs. At 27 steps he dropped right in his tracks. Very exciting hunt to a boring day. Hunted that morning and seen nothin, and never seen anything til him 30 mins before dark.

Don't have pictures, maybe the next one I kill will be in the morning.

I was able to bowhunt Alabama for several years in a row a few years ago; hogs werebecoming abundant where we were as well. It was right off the Tom Bigbe (sp?) River... close to Ezell's Fish Camp.

Yeah, I also was on the Tombigbe, but a little North of where your talking about. Hogs are beginning to be everywhere in Alabama.

congrats...you're lucky he dropped cause if they start runnin' it can be a real pain to track them...especiallly if you hit the shield.

Missouri DOC has an open season on them here. They are mostly in the southern part of the state. I think MoDOC is worried they will spread.

I haven't looked at this year's regs, but last year any means necessary was legal...bow, rifle, truck, spotlight. They want those pigs gone!

I cant wait till they really start moving into wi. Im dying for the day when i get to shoot one. There are quite a few in Central Wi, but havent seen any where I hunt. The DNR has a bounty out on them. All you need is a small game license here to shoot one. Unless your a lnad owner like me :D. The you dont need a license to hunt small game on your own land. Id love to run into one of them buggers in the woods. Mighty good tasting.
