Big Buck Strategy ? Live Does as the Lure.
I have 2 to 4 does that feed in a hay/alfalfa field every night about 45 minutes before sunset. I mean EVERY night. You could set your watch.
I have had NUMEROUS opportunities to take any or all of them. I am hesitant though because I want them to "lure" a big buck that cruises our area on to the property. Valid thought? The bow season for me here in Illinois is until January 17th, so I should have plenty of time to take any of the does after the rut. I have just one Buck tag left, & I'd like to make it count. RE: Big Buck Strategy ? Live Does as the Lure.
I thought I was the only one to do this. I have 2 does that go around my stand and have been for the last few weeks before the season opened. I plan on letting em stay right there until they bring a big buck back with em one day. Its the best bait you can use.

I had the same thing happen to me last year and had the same thoughts. Then when the late Oct. I was like "Where'd the does go?" I don't know why but they stopped coming around my stand. If I get the chance to take them this year I'm definitely taking the does. Just my opinion.
