I hear ya, I can hardly sleep, of course part of the lack of sleep is because I'm a Lifetime license holder and still don't have my carcass tags. I don't think this new system was anywhere ready to be used this year. <img src=icon_smile_blackeye.gif border=0 align=middle>

I just moved to NY this last Jan. I can't believe how late the season starts here. Come on Oct. 15th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

U know i am kind of glad it starts in mid oct because the leafs start to change and fall and the cold weather and the rut in only 2 weeks away ...... in other states i could not even hunt in 90 or 80 d weather aat all well. talk to u soon ..... good luck ....

I was having trouble sleeping back in August, so you can imagine what a wreck I am now. This will be my first season bowhunting (only my third season hunting -- I'm 39 -- got a late start). I see deer in my sleep. Fortunately, we're on fall break Monday and Tuesday, so at least I'll get to hunt all day opening day.

You are killing me. I will spend the entire weekend checking and rechecking my gear, shooting a few hundred arrows, final check on my bow and other equipment. THis is torture. I will be hunting tuesday-sunday without stopping. I can't wait.

This will be my first year bowhunting.I've gun hunted for years.I hunt both N.Y. and PA.Tioga County,PA border about a quarter mile away.

Central NY - South of Cazenovia.

I've been scouting with a little more purpose - still fairly long range - but noting exactly which bucks enter fields where. My goal this summer was to film as many as I could, to hopefully ID if we take them. I think I have 13 different bucks on tape - some many times. In the last few weeks, I've filmed several I'd never seen before (dispersment). Some have &quot;disappeared&quot; - hopefully not for good. It always seems like the big ones melt into the brush after their velvet is shed.

I am leaving St. Louis in about 10 hours to drive up near Saranac to ML hunt for a week. I am psyched! It has been warm down here, although the morning are getting colder. Boy did I see em all moving last week, we had one night drop to 40.

Packed all the bulky clothes last night, I don't know quick I will adjust to the cold!

Be safe, hunt hard.

This is going to be great. Me and the old man have Tuesday and Wednesday to hunt together this week. Opening day with your best hunting partner is the only way to go. I took off the entire week so I could be in the woods morning, noon, and night all week. My father is just begining to realize how insane I have become about hunting. I am so excited I can hardly stand it. No sleep tonight thats for sure. The old lady is already giving me crap about waking her up in the early morning hours. I CAN&quot;T TAKE IT ANYMORE&gt; I NEED TO HUNT NOW!!!!! Good luck to all of you NY Bowhunters and God Bless you.

OK. Me first. Got to my tree stand at 6:30 and right on schedule at about 8am two does and two fawns showed up. Not 15 yards from my stand but behind me and off-hand. Plus, they were all a'starin and a'gawkin and a'sniffin and a'twitchin at me and I didn't have a shot at the does. Then they left. Later a young buck (spike horn? must have been twoish) came by from the same direction, sniffed awhile and he left too. Went back to the same stand in the PM and saw nuthin. On the way out (crossing a field) I heard a &quot;scream&quot; and watched a deer running helter-skelter for the woods. Do deer scream? More like a screetch. Anyway, I got nuthin. I'm supposed to be butchering right now.

I got to my stand about 6:30 am and saw nothing .. went back to my stand at 3 . at about 5:30 4 does came out in the corn feild and thay came in about 3 yards drew back the bow there she go;s or her back at 30 yeards ......well i still have 32 more bow days left intill gun so i am happy i shot at one .......
