Draw Length Measurement
 

I am going to be needing a new cam for my Mathews LX, I expecting in the 28"-29" draw length range. But I have a certain question, since I just started shooting with a Kisser Button, how do I find out my actual measurement? I never use to shoot with a Kisser Button, and my draw length was measured by where I held the release, which use to be at the corner of my mouth. Do I tack on an 1/2"-1" more the the draw length?

Kisser button, kisser button. What is the first wrod here? "Kisser". A kisser button dragged back to the corner of the mouth means that the bow is overdrawn. You kiss it. I don't know why guys call it a kisser button. They should call it a "drag it back to the corner of my mouth button".

Now that I've got that out of my system, I would say this. Before you order any cam you really need to establish what your draw length should be. I see that you are now 27" and contemplating increasing by as much as two inches. Did you grow that much? Are you beginning to stretch out too much and just think you need longer?

I think you really need to get with a good PRO or coach and make sure you have good repeatable anchor references and go from there determining just how long you should draw. A good place to start is to use the "wingspan divided by 2.5 method".

The bow is already 2 yrs old, it will be 3 yrs old in April of 06'. I bought it brand new, I was 15 then and I am 17 going on 18 now, I definently have grown. And the fact that I now overdraw the bow makes it a little bit longer of a draw length. I figured I would hunt this season and get it taken care of after the season. With a slight bend in my arm, I still have to lean my head in to get the kisser to the corner of my mouth. I plan on going to my Pro Shop, but I wanted to get some opinions first.

Do you have a way of taking a picture with your draw length now? I prefer to have my nock directly below my eye.
