Eradic Flight With Fixed Broadheads???

I wouldn't say its really eradic, but something is screwy. I was sighting in my bow out to 40 yards with my new arrows I got last nite, and my fixed heads aren't hitting right.

My fixed heads (Wasp Hammer SSTs) and (Cabelas Laser Supremes) shoot low for some reason. At 20 yards they shoot about 6" low, at 30 yards its about 8-10" low, and at 35 yards they are 16-18" low. I don't really understand what is happening here. I have had to tweak my sights a little in the past when shooting broadheads, but this is ridiculous. My Spitfire XP 100s fly perfect at all distances mentioned.

Is my bow out of tune? The arrows are going in perfectly straight, and are flying good (had my brother watch from the side), he did say they appeared to be moving slower than my field points.

I would guess your bow is out of tune. Think as the broadhead as a giant fin. If they are shooting low I would guess your knock is to high. Shoot field points and broadheads at 30 yds. When they both shoot the same point the bow is tuned. Paper tune your bow, my guess is knock is to high.

are you broadheads and vanes indexed (lined up). had problems a year ago and the local bow shop helped me tune my bow and it didnt work, so we indexed the broadheads and the s. o. b. shot straighter than ever. Until I dropped 25 feet out of a tree.

Your bow needs to be tuned. Your are hitting right. Move your FP to your BH. In other words move your arrow rest. Do this, 1st shoot your BH then your FP, at the same spot. Then adjust your rest, in small movements only. A little will mean alot. Then shoot all over agian. Once you have brought them together on a straight plain, then work on the up and down. On this part you want to move your BH to your FP by again moving either your rest or your nock on the string. Once you have done this, you should shoot perfectly. What all of this is doing is tuning your bow to your arrow. Remember, to work in small movements and shoot both a BH and FP at the same spot on the target after each adjustment..

That is my suggestion. Your bow is probably off. Rest got bumped, pins got bumped, nocking point is off.

Paper tuning would do wonders. ghemry I believe...is right on.

Its my nocking point. My serving has been un-winding, and I don't know how to fix it. I got a new string at the local shop, so I just need to go get that put on, and then I'll have it tuned up. Its just gotta get me thru till Nov 1, then I can get my new Hoyt going. :D

I would have just had the string reserved. But getting a new string, you'll want to shoot it a few hundred shots even before you tune it. If its a high quality string of 452, then 50 shots should do.

Your bow must be out of tune or something is wrong with the bow. I highly doubt that that has anything to do with the broadheads that you are shooting

Bow is getting its new string put on tomorrow, so we'll see if that cures the problem. I have no doubt that my arrows will fly true when I get it all put back together an tuned. New Hoyt will be in Nov1 tho, just in case it doesn't work good enuf :D
