Hogg Spotted
 

Well after I took the kid's to school this morning I thought I'd take a walk into my hunting area where I seen 2 buck's last night .After walking all the way in I found the owner plowing the field ,so I left.When Ireturned to my truck at 9:45am I heard something when i looked up all I could see is horn's and a huge body bolting down the road in front of me .WOW! this guy is a hogg and thegood thing out of this is that he ran into the wood's that ajoin's the field that I just came from .The wind is coming from the north and isn't good for this stand ,so I'm hoping for it to change before this evening .This buck is a hogg ,by far the biggest I've seen in some time .I'm hanging all my gear out and going to spray it down with earth scent for the day and then I'm hoping the wind direction change's .
I'm sooo excited about this buck ,because I'm just starting to see buck's in the last couple day's so I believe the pre-rut is on here in Ont .
I just can't wait to get out there ,and I'm crossing my finger's that thing's work out for mesoon .I've been passing on doe's,fawn's anda small buck this season [7deer],and I'm really feeling positive about my chance's ,thing's are just getting better and better ,this hogg's going down .

Steady up ole boy--sometimes the hogs can let you down. Get a deer, put some meat in the freezer 'then' hit the trails in search of the big'un.

I've also seen a few nice bucks around--none of them sniffing the does just yet--so I'm not sure we're into the pre-rut just yet. Could happen in the next week or so if the temperatures stay where its at.

Saw a dandy this evening, a little too late for a shot 6:55 PM, and with the rain, the clouds made it even darker. Looked real good and even wondered out into an open field where I'd 'accidentally' dropped some apples.
Hope it's not the samebuck that boogied from you this morning--:).

Good luck with him john---and if ya need a hand getting him just give me a call.Better yet ,just give me the exact location of your hunting grounds and let me see if I can draw him in with a little luck.;)
Hopefully he sticks around and starts tearing up your mock scrape.

Where the heck have you been Kieth,I've been thinking of you lately .Have you moved into your new home yet ?I figured you must be really busy this summer with the new home .Let me know and I'll drop in for a visit .
As far as the buck goes Kieth ,he's a big boy for sure and in this area I can only hunt a buck here ,but I have a doe tag for another area ,and I'll try to fill the freezer then ,I've seen deer almost every time out this season and my confidence is very high ,I've passed on 7 deer so far in this area due to being doe's and fawn's and a little spike ,but if I'm to take a buck he's going to be a good one .

Tonight wasn't so good due to the high wind's and I wasn't able to hunt the stand's that I really wanted to ,I certainly don't want to spoil a good hunting spot by hunting it in the wrong wind .So I hunted near my mock scrape and seen 2 deer heading into the bedding area ,but that was all I seen tonight ,hopefully Fri morn will be better . I brought my game cam home because I hadn't been getting any pic's from it over my mock scrape ,the film wasn't in right ,so no wonder I hadn't been getting any pic's ,as for the scrape, it still hasn't had a whole lot of attention ,so I added a bit of Rush Creek doe urine to it just to see if it might help create some attention to it . I'll let you's know how thing's go here Fri night .

OK John, I'm getting tired of hearing about all these darn deer you're not killin ! I'll sweeten the pot for ya here buddy. If ya get that big boy I will buy ya a 40 pounder of Captain Morgans Spiced Rum, and then I'll help ya drink it !!!!!!!
Now if that doesn't motivate ya into shooting the damn deer nothing will.
