Lyme Disease

Can you get Lyme disease from eating rare venison?
Just curious, I eat mine rare or medium rare just wondering if there is a risk of it or not?

my husband has lymes and he always eats his deer rare or med. rare.
he's researched it for YEARS and he just said that he's never heard of it.
i think you're safe.

My wifes cousin got lymes really bad and was very sick for quite sometime, it went to his liver and thought theyd have to take half of it. he was not bit by a deer tick, he was bit by a bear tick. These little buggers are worse than deer ticks and 90% of bear ticks are "dirty" But i have never heard anyone getting lymes from eating rare or med-rare venison.

As far as I know, deer dont actually develope lyme disease. They have a ton of iron in their bodies.

I eat my venison pretty rare also. I had lyme disease 2 years ago, but It was confirmed to have come from a deer tick.
