congrats on the buck. I am glad it turned out ok even with a neck shot. If you wait a little longer it might have presented a better shot for you. But good luck on the does.

congrats,on the good outcome. wait just a little longer next time and get that rib shot. not meaning to seem harsh.neck shots are fatil if you hit a very small target.I have trailed 6 neck shots with my dog for 2 different hunters, only found 1 of those 6. the other 5 were found days later by buzzards.

just my 2 cents,there are 98 more.

I have a hard time with a congratulations as well. A "no pass buck", or any type of animal for that matter, doesn't exist without the right shot. I passed a 330 class bull elk on my first ever elk hunt this year because I couldn't get a shot behind his shoulder. I was within 12 yards for 10 minutes, had body and head to shoot at, but no ethical shot was offered by him, so I didn't take an uneccessary chance.

I'm glad you recovered him, but you are lucky you did.

At least you found him. You got lucky. Shot selection should not change as the rack grows.

Mauser you have no clue.

Some things are true whether you believe them or not.
