Its the bottom of the seventh....
and once again, I got shut out. Bow hunting can be very frustrating. First time out had a 6 point sneak up behind my ground blind and stomp on it. Scared the crap out of me.
Second time I sat in a hedgerow and got narced off by a turkey. Then when I checked my stand, someone had disconnected the tiedowns on the ladder and loosened the tiedown on the stand. This morning, I was in place an hour before the sky lightened up. I could see several deer 150 yards out. Does were feeding, a couple of young bucks were play sparring. The winds were right, everything was looking perfect. At 20 minutes before sunrise, I let out a couple of soft bleats and the deer started my way. I kept thinking this is the morning I'm gonna get my first bow kill. 80 yards and they're still heading my way. Quick release is in place and so is the broadhead, "I'm gonna kill". 70 yards a shot rings out over the hill and all the deer stop moving and look over their shoulders. I bleat again and they look back my way. Then a chorus of three shots and the deer bolt into the tree line away from me. If I find out who was shooting, I'm gonna kill! There's always next weekendI guess. |
