NY weather,
Seems like it's gonna be a wet weekend. I missed opening day and really feel I need to go! I probably will. I'll try to stick it out as long as I can. I do have a cheap camo raincoat, But I probably won't use it. I will use my treestand umbrella, pretty cool. The trick is not to get soaked by the time I set it up!

Brroklyn hugh. Just kidding, IM originally from the bronx. IM in upstate NY (Kingston)for many years now. Actully, the weather dont look to bad for sat, they say rain late in the day. If it rains sun, I'll propably vist my son further upstate. I habe a real good camo rain gear, makes no noise at all. What part of the state do you hunt?

RE: NY weather,
IM not big on bowhunting in the rain. I worry about the blood trail and I dont belive the deer move all that much. My job is good about 1/2 days and time off. S I take some time on the best days. End of this week is looking perfect. Godd sunny days and colder. I cant wait. I'll do an evening hunt on this Thur or Fri, then, needless to say I'll be in the woods Sat and Sun. (If I need to be)?? Good luck to you guys.

RE: NY weather,
i dont understand why ppl wont bow hunt in the rain? even a gun hit deer can run a short distance if you hit them correctly behind the shoulder. the whole vital area. if you can gun hunt theres no reason not to go with the bow either. and yes deer do move in the rain. i just got in the house from my morning sit. its 10am. i seen 8 deer this morning.3 doe's.2 yearlings. 1 im not sure of what it was, just caught a glimpse. 1 small little basket rack. and 1 really nice 1/2 rack. if he had the other side i think he'd be 110-120 range. the fist deer came by and it wasnt quite lite enough to shoot.doe. the last came by at 8:45. sat till 9:45 with no movement for an hour.

RE: NY weather,
I, speaking for myself. Have not had luck on rainy days seeing deer. Now, IM talking about rain. Heavy rain. And getting wet means nothing to me. I also wear glasses, if I hit a deer in the rain, IM not sure I'll see well. Between the rain screwing up the blood trail and my glasses fogging up. As for hitting the deer in the sweet spot, your right. But, we all know, nothings perfect.
