Can't believe it worked
 

Well fellas what a morning. I wake up late (almost dusk) and my wife said you better get out there. I said it was to late but then decided what the heck. I went and sat on the ground because not enough time to use my climber. Well never have seen a deer from the ground, until today. I sat quite a while and decided to try rattling, that technique that has only ever scared away my quarry rather thatn calling it in. Well by the time I got done with my sequence of rattling, grunting and thrashing a bush and the ground around me he was already within 70 yards. I noticed him so I quit. He was just a spiker but I thought if he makes the mistake I will probably take him just because I never have called a buck in when rattling. Well he madethat bad mistake and came to within 15 yards broadside. That was when I made my mistake. I went to raise up just a little to get a good shot on him and I kicked my rattle bag. OOPS he looked straight at me. We sat there and stared each other down. Well he won the staring contest but oh well it wasn't really the buck I wanted to take. It was pretty cool though to get a buck to come in to my rattling. I guess I will keep trying it cause I guess it does work.

Good job. Make a mental note of the date. Ratteling only works for a short period. In my area they are getting agressive and comming to calls and ratteling to. Good luck. For me this period usually last about 2 weeks at the most.
