Got my first one with the bow!
 

So I finally got my first doe with the bow. This is my first year bowhunting, and I have seen a good amount of deer but no luck has seen to come my way, until the other nite. I was in the woods and at about 6:00pm i had a button buck and a few doe come right under stand. I watched them fart around for about 10 minutes. There was a big doe that was walkin broadside about 8 yards in front of me...I stopped her with my mouth, and let the arrow fly. It was so fast i didn't even see the arrow hit but i knew i hit her good because of the loud THWAK. She ran about 50 yards, stopped...and then i saw her back legs start to wobble, and she fell to the ground. I double lunged her, the arrow blew right throuh her and into the ground...it was a perfect shot.It was awesome. Hopefully there are plenty more to come.

Congrat on a nice deer. I was once told that any deer taken with a bow is a trophy, and I believe it. Good luck during the rest of your season.

Way to go. There is nothing like taking one with a bow. I would rather bow hunt because it is such a challenge. Great job and good luck for the rest of the year. I guess you know your now hooked on bow hunting for life.

last year i had pleanty of chances and i past em' up. only to kick my self the rest of the season. the first 45mins of the season i saw 4 i could have/ should have shot (doe's). past em' up because it was early in the season...did not get a deer that year..won't do it again...case and point...nice doe I would have taken her....nice doe...good job...

Yes, I am definitely hooked for life. Bowhunting is so much more fun and difficult than hunting with a shotgun. The doe might look small but it weighed a little over 100 pounds. Nice size for a doe. Her hair does look all messed up, ("looks like it got hit by a car") but thats because we dragged it out of the woods with a quad. I got it in Sparta, NJ. Zone 6.

Yep.... now you've gone and done it! Before long, you'll be selling off those guns to buy more bowhunting stuff! :D
