Usually I help dad when he gets one (he only lives a few blocks away) but a couple of years ago he shot one right at the end of legal shooting light, was dark when he found it, and it was close to home so he brought it home to gut it. He had mom hold the light while he gutted it, and he had demolished it with his 25-06. She looked at the beginning and threw up, so after that she wouldn't watch. She held the light with her eyes shut and dad telling her "left, right , up, down". It was the most hilarious thing I ever heard. The neighbors probably had no idea what the hell was going on, as dad is not always the most patient man in the world, and mom crying back at him. I swear, what I would give for that on video!

whenever i get one my wife always has to touch it. right after we met we went out to dinner one night and on the way home a big doe ran out in front of my car, boom!! 55 mph in a chevy Beretta the deer was still kicking when the cops got there so they put one in her to finish her off, my wife was screaming. after she calmed down she wanted to touch it, and since then thats been her thing i am introducing her to the hunting aspect this year. my poor little beretta:(

Too funny!

I hunt near my folks home so I usually butcher my deer there. My mom always says the same thing when she looks at the deer, "Oh the poor thing...I'll get the vacuum sealer out for you"

When I was 15, I drew a Michigan Elk permit. Anterless only, but an Elk tag nonetheless. When we were taking picutres of it in the back of dad's pickup, my older sister came out. What is that, she remarked. What is what I said back. That cut by her stomach. I pulled hercavity wide open... Oh, you mean this... This is where the guts "were". Her eyes rolled back and she dropped where she stood. Priceless. Hehe. Everytime I see the pics from that hunt I still chuckle. ;)

Should be a little more respectful of your mother;). Anyway congrats on your deer.
