Oh my Goodness
 

What a difference a few hours makes. Instead of going back on the new ground I got this afternoon I decided to go sit on some public ground about a mile from the house. Well I take my new climber stand that I paid $15 for from a store that had no idea what it was worth. Well I had never used one so it took me a little bit to figure it out. Well I got up the tree finally and the deer were all over me. They were all out of range but they were there. Just picked the wrong location to set up. I saw 6 does and 1 real good shooter and a smaller buck. I tried hard to call them in but they were having none of it. I guess I know where to set up next time if the wind is right. Sorry I rambled but I am psyched about this. I will keep ya all updated....

Two questions. . . first, what store did you get the stand from so I can get over on them just like you. Secondly, how were the bucks acting with the does around?

Sorry didn't reply the other day bob, keyboard malfunction. Muzzle opened up here in iowa last saturday. How far do I have to drive from Des Moines to start claim hopping yer sights? lol

Man that's not rambling ,that's what this site is all about it for guy's and gal's who like to share their experience's in the wood's with the other's . I think your gonna get yourself a great deer ,your close now and you'll connect soon .Good luck and let us all know when it happen's .But also we want you to share each and every time out whether it's good new's or bad ,it doesn't matter we want to read about it .

WELL AF I AM ABOUT AS FAR WEST AS YOU CAN GO IN IOWA. AND THE GROUND I WAS ON THIS AFTERNOON WAS PUBLIC GROUND. THERE IS ONLY ABOUT 5 THOUSAND ACRES OF IT AROUND HERE. SOME IS REALLY GOOD THOUGH AND PEOPLE HAVE NO IDEA HOW GOOD.
