Tree Stand Archery Gobbler (PIC)
#1

Like I've said before, this is the first year in 20 that I've ever tried deer hunting from a tree stand.Got in thestand at 6am but didn't see any deer this morning. I was just getting ready to get down when, at 11:30I saw a red head, then another, then another. 6 of these jokers came out so I decided to take one off the buffet! Shot him at 32 yrds and he went about 3 steps. I guess if I can hit one of these from a treeI should be able to hit a deer. This is my 3rd one this year with this bow and my second with the Innerloc EXP. Both performed flawlessly. I have 3 Slick Tricks in my quiver, but put in 2 of the EXP's for coyotes and gobblers. Glad I got to use one.
Stats:
1 inch, 1inch, 11 inches, and 24 lbs.
Newberry SB1
100 grain Innerloc EXP

Yeah, we have a fall season and you can take up to four birds including hens.
I used a fixed blade on a spring bird and it worked just fine (Gold Tip Centurion to be exact-great head by the way this is highly underated). However,I have found that I prefer this particularmechanical on turkey only in order to do a couple things. It slows my arrow down in the bird so when it passes through I can find my arrow much easierand I like the wider cut they provide. With the fixed blade my arrow sailed through and went a good 20 yards. With these EXP's, some of the energy goes to opening them because they use a spring clip design instead of o-rings. It gives the bird a good thumpin' as well because of this and my arrow only travels about 3-5 yards after exiting.
