This is how it is done. (w/ pics) FL whitetail.

Me and "FLeastwood" went down to his private property looking for a trophy Florida whitetail. Well... I found one. Here are the pics to show you what a perfect bow shot looks like.:D

We set up 30 minutes before daylight. Only 15 minutes After daylight, and 37 yards out from the tree stand, the elusive "O'l Mossy Oak Swampy Ghost" (as known by the locals) was down for the count. With the heart shot, (andnon-existant"oil pressure") he hopped only 15 yards through the deep Florida swamp and found a new homeon my wall.

He is my first deer with a bow and at the beginning of my second year bowhunting. His inside spread is 16in, something I here incentral Florida am very proud of. Enjoy the pics.

"Even a blindpig finds an acorn once in a while." hahaha.

Yes sir! That was some morning. I and the very, very few people I allow on my property for this reason have hunted this specific deer, (the Mossy Oak Swampy Ghost) for over 2 years. Then I let this rookie go out with me and he made a professionals shot with his bow. Would you believe that there have been 7 attempted shots at this deer. For some reason, every time this monster came out, something would happen to prevent the shot from appearing or the attempted shot would miss him. And so the name came about….

So I applaud Natedog for his unbelievable shot. He did justice to this trophy deer.

We are down around Deland (30m. N. of Orlando) and I usually hunt Ocala, Lake George, other public tracts, but seldom pass up the opprotunity to hunt on private land.
I occasionally get to go up "North" - west of Talahassee and it is fun to hunt the larger deer.
