Takinakidhuntin,
Kid...listen to nybowhunter & bowfanatic. I posted athread last week how the WORST thing about bowhunting or hunting in a stand where you have only a 30 yard shot @ max...is the wind! The only hunting you or any of us should do in the wind is still hunting with a gun. Take what others say about seeing deer on a windy day with a grain of salt. If they havent been jumped already or pushed...they are gonna sit tight until the wind calms down or blows steadily in one direction. No scentlock suit is gonna cover all of you, your bow, & your stands scents in 10-20 mph wind.

Good luck!

Absolutely high wind's do effect deer movement in most area's .deer depend on their nose and ear'sand if the wind's too high their nose and ear's are useless to them. That's when they'll find somewhere that the wind doesn't effect them as much .In high wind's ,I've found the best place to see deer movement is low creekbed's and bedding area's .

RE: Do you think high winds affect deer movement?

Besides the fact the high winds bother my ability to hear deer, they also can be a huge problem if they change direction. First two days in my part of NY have been tough because not only is it gusty, it's been downright impossible to fix a direction of wind. One minute it's in your face, the next at your back. Been busted twice by big does getting my scent due to shifty winds. One had a six-point with her. I can't wait for the winds to die down.
