Wisconsin 16" Fork?
 

What a strange weekend! Hunted with a buddy this weekend and for the third time this year...no shooters! Bummer! Anyway we both were tricked by a great 1.5y/o fork on Saturday morning. Around 9AM all I see is horns walking through the woods. But something is wrong...the body is tiny for a mature wisconsin buck. As it got closer I realized this is a huge fork. The horns were definetely outside the ears (maybe 16"spread), and high! What a riot. Love to see good antler growth but this is ridiculous!

sounds like he would have been a nice one to shoot...don't want his genes roaming the woods...hopefully his cousin will come into range.;):D

That is just like the one I saw Sat evening. It was right before dark and I am sitting in a big cedar tree. Here come 4 does and I see a big body deer with then. I could see he was well past his ears. I get out the Bino's and look. On his right side he is past his ears about 2 inches. It goes out and up no points. HIs left out and up and then a crab claw at the end. Very big body and a nice wide spread and length.

I've been seeingabuck from the shallow end of the gene pool alot this year. I hunt on a private farm inBucks county in Southeast PA and i've seen this same deer abot 5 times already this season. Its a very large-bodied deer but it has spikes that barely reach the top of its ears. I don't know ifhis rack broke off during a fight or if its just a buck with terrible genes.
