Hey, I kiss every bunny, just before I put it in my game pouch and I'm huggin trees almost everyday this time of year, on my way into my stand. However, I never tell anyone that hunting is bad.

As for giving meat away, my family only eats about 1 1/2 deer/yr (just myself and my daughter eat it), so the rest goes to relatives or neighbors. Feeding people with delicious and nutritious wild game, is a great gift.

I have plenty of people close to me that will take whatever I want to give. I gave 1 deer away last year out of three and that is really all I'd spare. I do it for meat and recreation, so the meat and eventually hopefully a trophy is all I really have to show for it.

I think keep what you use and find someone close to you that will use the rest.

my wife and myslef usually take 5 or 6 deer a year, some time more.last year we took 8 bucks. we usually only keep about 1/2,give the rest to the elderly that we know needs food.

I gave about 1/3 of the last one to friends. today I took one side of the backstrap to a friend that has Cancer.

Great post, post and topic. I agree totally!!!

Bless your heart, my dad always taught me give and you'll receive ten folds back.

I have a similar situation, my wife's uncle who loved big game hunting, feel very ill and is now partially blind. He is a great man with a huge heart, ever since we (wife and I) have been together I have gave her uncle deer and other wild meat I have taken. He always shed tears when I arrive with the packaged goods and frankly so do I (just don't tell the wife or the buds, I got an image to uphold!) I find myself extremely fortunate to hunt and have the ability to do so.

I love hunting and well the family all really enjoy's the fruits of the labour and like to share the wealth with those less fortunate then myself.

I also give my buck & snow geese to food for the hungry, to help the less fortunate. I know not the best meat, but is still better than nothing!

I don't do it to be all that or pats on the back, just to help others understand and share in this wonderful sport and meat.

Hunters seem to be a group that not only cares about the sport, enviroment but kind individuals withy huge hearts. It amazes me with their generosity....much like farmers. We don't all have lots, but will give our shirts to help a neighbour or those in need.

Cudo to you all and you really give hunting a good name.

God Bless
