stuck my first pig yesterday (updated w/ pics)
 

i shot my biggest hog to date and my first with a bow yesterday...he weighed 153lbs and had a nice lil set of cutters/wetters.
huntnma was a tracking fool...no blood (3 drops) so she looked for footprints and splashes of water on the palm fronds...he ran about 120yds. it was a great shot as well...high lung but it got both and it missed the shoulder shield by a millimeter....draggin' was rough cause the ground the was so wet but we got him out...i'll post the whole story and pics soon but going huntin' again in a few minutes.

Congrats. I want to hog hunt really bad but the farmers here in Iowa may frown on it a little. Just looks like a real good time.

congrats on your bow pig!!! i haven't gotten one with my bow yet but the one i got with my rifle was a pain to get out. they like the wet mucky viney stuff.

Congratulations-I started Bowhunting them in the off season about 4 years ago & it is just a blast-anyone that can try it should. Inexpensive compared to most Bowhunting. In 49 years of Bowhunting allkinds of biggame I have come to the conclusion wild hogs are the toughest thing on 4 legs to KILL with an arrow. Well, other than Rhino, Elephants & Giant Bears. I try to make several trips to Oklahoma & Texas every year to hunt them. Will be releasing a video on my past Hog Bowhunts in the near furure. IT IS "NEVER" dull, for sure.

to make a long story shorter:
got to my ladder stand when i heard them coming..they were close so i hurled everything including me up to my seat...got my bow set up and realized they were pigs...i didn't want to take him at first...i had passed him up last weekend...and huntnma (scooby) had killed her first doe the night before so I was going on 3hrs sleep if that...they fed around me for about 30 minutes to where i could take a few pics and thenI couldn't stand it any longer...i called home to see if Huntnmacould help me drag him out if I shot him...once I got the ok I waited 15 minutes for him to come directly in front of me at 20-22yds and I released...Nailed him...him and the arrow ran off...i waited for huntnma to get there and then only 2 drops of blood...couldn't find blood anywhere...so huntnma started tracking the footprints and looking for water splashes on the palm fronds...we found one more drop of blood about 75yds away and then nothing...it started to thunder so we both freaked...at that time i started to smell boar hog...she went about 15yds and then said there he is...i wasn't sure if i should be looking for a tree to climb or if he was dead:D...thankfully he was dead with the arrow sticking out of him:D...in the pics it appears as though it was possibly a spine shot but it was definitely a double lung....the arrow would have passed thru but it got rib on the exiting side.
Anyway, the drag was evil so we took turns...the water was like quicksand in some places from being so wet...since huntnma did such an awesome job trackin' she's now got the nickname of Scooby Doo...i was signing scooby doo all the way back...it was too funny:D...hopefully the pics won't to too huge...i'm just learning how to post pics on my own.;):D

Congratulations girl.....that's a great hog you got. Pig hunting in Florida is a blast. I love it!! Tell huntnma excellent job tracking....the swamps, mud, palmettos, snakes and alligators don't make it easy.....not to mention those B52 mosquitoes you guys have down there!! Congratulations to both of you!!
