My best was in Illinois on Nov 11 (151 6/8") in full rut.
Second best in Pa on Dec 3 (129 6/8") in the post rut He had zero fat on him from the rut

Don't remember the exact date but it was the day before 2nd shotgun season in the first week of December, 1988. 11 pt. scoring 141 1/8 after deductions. Post first rut in Illinois.

Mine was an 8pt from Braxton County WV. It rough scored around 120". That was on Oct 27, 2001. It was pre-rut time...but he was belly-filling when I stuck him.

My best bow kill was an 8 point, 19 in. spread, 8 in. points and very symetrical. Got him in N.J on 9/29/91 six days before I got married.

Both during rut, one on a hot doe, one came into a mock scrape.

Sept 2, 2001. Definitely Fall feeding pattern, or maybe can even still say Summer. The bucks were still travelling in bachelor groups and when I shot this guy, probably about 2/3 of the bucks were still in velvet. Certainly a good time to bowhunt undisturbed deer.


Rifle season brackets the other best time - about November 15 to 20 in the peak of the rut. The majority of my big bucks have been acquired in this time frame.

My best buck--judging by rack--is an 11 point taken on Sept. 18th. My biggest BODIED buck was taken in early November--like a lot of others here. I always see tremendous rut activity here between Nov 10-12th.

Shot the 149" buck off a mock scrape. I started this scrape in early August in a staging area, the bucks all held up here before entering the alfalfa field. He was with a couple other bucks including a 130 class 8-pt.

My best was on Nov 11. He had a doe cornered in a 'bowl' right below me for over an hour. She finally got away from him and came right by my stand. He trailed along like a puppy dog. Full rut I would say!

my best was killed oct.21 2001(10 point 120p&y) he was in full rut already if you can believe that, he was following a doe grunting heavily and his neck was swollen..i have talked to many wisconsin hunters who have also said it was a early rut this year..

my second best as on nov.12, 2000. 8 pt 112 P&y he was in full rut and actually was snort weezing at another bigger buck and ran him out of the area, but then he came back and met his maker.

My best was taken on Nov.29th, 1998. It was Post-Rut here in Pennsylvania. He scored 127" and was just an 8pt.

I took this 3 1/2 year old buck http://www.OldTackle.com/images/free.../278514720.jpg 3 years ago when I was 16, on a cold morning in the Flint Hills in Ks. It was a weird 9X5 with a double main beam, outside spread of 22. It's the biggest bow buck I've arrowed and found.
