They don't usually like carbons and definately take some tuning once installed. I have seen them used successfully a couple of times and have seen them fail more times. IMO it's one more thing to worry about. I would just put a good shot on your animal and track it old school if it were me. Good luck bud!

my neighbor uses one on hogs since they can leave a weak blood trail no matter how well you hit them. that's the only reason why i've considered getting one.

I tried their Silvertip model two years ago and wasn't very pleased with their durability. I like their overall design and cutting diameter but had one disintegrate on a deer that year.
