got my 8 pointer but i didn't get it
yesterday after noon i was in my stand and all of a sudden the same 8 pointer that i spooked 4 days ago appeared off to my right with 2 does. i let him move in, and i could tell that he didn't like the situation . i thought to my self i have to get him today, he got about 45 yards out and i got ready to fire. he turned broad side right in my shootin lane and i let it fly. It was a dead on shot but just a little lower that i would have liked for it to be. that deer took off. i waited about 20 min and i climbed out of my stand and walked back to the truck and went and picked up my buddy. when we got back it was dark. we found blood right off, i mean alot of it. kinda pinkish so i figure it hit his lung somewhere or another. we tracked him about 275 yards and when we got 50 yards from where he lay we heard leaves rustling about and i thought the deer had got up to run and then i cought a glimpse of it. momma bear and her 2 cubs had that thing tearing it to pieces. there wasn't to much i could do about it. wasn't about to mess with a momma bear!!!!

Ya,your right,messing with a momma bear and her two cubs isnt a good idea.[:-]
Congrats on the deer.43 yard shot is a long one I must say on an uncomfortable deer in the situation.
Did you get any of the deer and the head after the bears were done with it?
