Huh, I've never though of that, but that's a good idea. I might have to give it a try.

Talk to Greg Eders on his site. He hunts and scouts for elk with his bike quite a bit and may be of some help.

They are great, just stay out of the thorns and stickers. Flat tires suck.

Fro thorns slime works real well, but if you are going to be riding over rocks you have more chance of a pinch flat. In that case i would carry a extra tuble and small pump.

i got a old crappy 10 speed mountain bike outta trash pick-up and i fixed her all up and painted it brown and now it rides nice...1/2 hour walk turns into 5-10 minute ride!

I have done it when I hunted the green swamp in Florida. It was about a 6 mile trek back to the hunting spot. I thought I was in pretty good shape until i did that.
I'm sure I hunt that same area..that's where these 3 bucks came from..I say it's the same because it's the only place in Greenswamp where you can get 6 to 7 miles away from vehicle traffic. Stand Hammock Rd?
I hate riding a bike..but it's the only way back in there.

I have but I wouldn't really call it mountain biking. My hunting area is extremely accessible from a variety of paved and dirt roads. I simply ride the bike to within a hundred yards or so of one the roads and then carefully conceal it under some camo netting.
