Fixed blade or expandable?

Just thought I'd get a heated debate going here fellas. So what's your opinion- fixed blades, or expandables? What do you prefer, and why. Pro's, Con's post it up and let everybody know.

Give me a fixed head any day. My Slick Tricks and Thunderheads hit where I aim and I don't have to worry about the blades not opening. IMO mechanical heads are one more thing you must worry about malfunctioning.

By the way, my preference if fixed blade all the way. Just so you know.

For my setup and my hunting conditions I prefer expandables...but modest cutting diameter models at that. Second choice would be the super short replacement blade broadheads like the NAP Nitron, Slick trick, etc...

Both. I really like my fixed blade Liberty Broadheads, particularly when I'm hunting from my ground blind. From my treestand, I'm trying out some First Cut mechanicals.

I prefer mechanicals. Have had great luck with deer and turkey, clean kills and flawless operation. Also seem to fly much closer to field tips with my setup.

I reserve my larger mech heads (1.5"&^) for evening hunts when I'll be tracking solo. When using such a headI will only take a close up high percentage shot, anything else get's a pass. I've only shot under these circumstances once and the plan worked.

Besides that scenario I stick with fixed heads.
I once had a shot go sour on a deflecting limband the broadhead & arrow hung up along the outside of the ribcage near the heart area. The 4 bladed fixed blade worked it's magic as the deer ran off and wound up slicing enough veins & such to getter done. It wasn't a short tracking job, but the niner was mine.
Had it been a mech head it would have just popped right back out.
This is one of the main reasonsI primarily stick to fixed blades, one more factor working in my favor.I need all the helpI can get!

My fixed blade muzzy 100s get r done everytime. they fly very consistent and you dont have to worry about them not opening on impact either. another good thing is that muzzy gives you a practice set of blades so you dont have to ruin a broadhead in order to practice.
