Shockwaves
I picked up a pack of shockwave mechanicals to try for this year. I took the blades of the one to made sure they were flying with my field tips. They were. When i put it back together to put them on my arrows i ran into some troubles. In the package it gives you like 12 rubber bands, one for each and some extra's and put that around the blades. It also has 3 metal rings...which i have no idea where they go? I couldnt understand the directions on the package so does anyone know what these metal rings are for and where they go? thanks

RE: Shockwaves
There is an indentation behind the blades. The o-ring will sit right up next to the blades behindthat indentation.

RE: Shockwaves
If i was you I would go with the spitfire or spitfire Xp. I've gotten way better results with those.

RE: Shockwaves
the metal rings sit right up against the base of the broadhead. but patriot15 is right, i would really try to go with the spitfire, or spitfire xp's.

RE: Shockwaves
so it slips on the bottom of the broadhead so when you screw it in it is touching the insert and the broadhead under the blades?

RE: Shockwaves
BEST broadhead i have shot... got a passthrough on an 8pt this year and stuck about 4 inches into the ground. Put the metal ring on the part of the bradhead that screws into the insert in your arrow.
WHY would you take the blades off your broadheads to practice?? |
RE: Shockwaves
I read on either here or archerytalk.com that with mechanicals by taking the blades of to practice the head still flew the same but it just wasnt dulling and or breaking the blades...dont know if its true but quite a few people said they did the same thing with good results so i tried that.

RE: Shockwaves
I thought that taking the blades off it would cause it to weigh less in return not hitting the same... I may be wrong

RE: Shockwaves
they go on the bottom of the head by fitting over the threads and then screw on arrow. Good choice of broadhead.I've killed 7 deer with 6 pass thru's. Only non pass thru hit opposite inside shoulder. With today's broadheads, arrows, and bows it is all about shot placement. Good luck!!!!
