Which type of acorns do deer...

prefer? In other words, should I set up over the red, pin or white oaks on the property that I hunt? All have good acorn crops. There may be some black oak also, but I have a hard time separating that type of oak from red oak. No bur or shumnard oaks though.

yep buddy white oaks are the best they are like candy to deer. so hunt them first .then the red and pin. but dont give too much thought to the over cups if you have them deer just dont seem to like them.

Hey don't forget there are many types of White Oaks, a normal White Oak has a smaller oval acorn, with a top that sits on top of the acorn, instead of surround it. A Bur Oak for example is a type of White Oak, the top encircles the acorn and it is "hairy".
