Default A young mans first deer.

It has been all summer in the making. Allthe practice with his bow paid off for him today.

It started with outfitting him with a new bow, arrows and broadheads. He is shooting a CSS bow set at 48 pounds, Gold Tip Pro Hunters and Slick Trick broadheads. He practiced a lot including coming along to quite a few 3-D shoots with us. He became a pretty decent shot as well. 25 yards and under he is consistent enough to take a whitetail.

I set a lock on up for him in an island of oaks in an overgrown field. The deer have been hitting the area pretty hard getting after those acorns. So I knew it would be a perfect place to set him up.

On his first ever hunt Kirk got all settled in at 6:30 and at 7:00 he saw his first deer. 2 does and 2 fawns made their way into the oak stand from the field. At 7:05 the young man did what he practiced so hard on all summer, he put that Slick Trick right through the heartof adoe.

I am really proud of the young man, he did exactly what he was supposed to do and held off his shot until he was offered a 10 yard broadside shot on this doe. He showed great poise. His precise shot yielded a 50 yard blood trail to his first ever deer on his first ever hunt
