Default missed an 8 pointer

taday was the first day of bow season in the state of virginia. i haven't had a chance this year to get my stand up so this morning i figured i would just sit on the ground. i got to the tree where i was gonna sit and 1 hour before daylight, right as the sun was coming up i saw 3 does heading my way. i just sat there and about 2 mins later i saw him. biggest 8 pointer i have ever seen. he got in my shootin lane about 15 yards from me and as i started to draw back my bow my foot snapped a little twig and the buck and the does just bolted. made me sick but thats all part of hunting. i hope i get another shot at him soon!!

I missed one like that over 10 years ago, and I still get sick to my stomach when I think about it.[&:]
Next time you hunt from the ground, be sureto clear out a 5*5 area by scraping back the leaves. This will give you a fresh earth scent and keep all of your movements quiet.
