helical fletch question

What amount of helix do most of you shoot and why? I have 2317's with only a slight amount of helical twist and some that are fairly pronounced. I don't see any difference in accuracy. Seems like the more helical twist, the greater loss of arrow speed, not that that is a big deal with most bows.

RE: helical fletch question

I think speed loss is extremely marginal between a helical and a straight or offset fletch. I haven't done any testing of this but I would hardpressed tobelieve more than 2-3 fps.

As for amount....I believe somewhere around 4-5 degrees is standard.

RE: helical fletch question

I use the Arizona E-Z fletch, and it works well for me. I believe it's 6 degrees. and non adjustable. I shoot thru a W.B., and I use a small bead of glue on the leading edge of the vane to help with wear. my bow is fairly slow compaired to most of you guys, only 210 fps. But still have no problems getting pass thrus. hope this helps.
