Default Treestand concealment

I just put up one of those cheap 15 ft. ladder stands ($80 from cabelas). But in order to get it up I had to clear out the tree a lot. Now it looks like the stand is out in the open. I need to find a way to conceal it without keeping me from drawing my bow. I was thinking about buying that strap on shooting rest from Cabelas and then putting a
burlap skirt around it. What do you think?

That would probably work. Just a helpful tip that I have found over the years is that when I put up a ladder stand I try to put it in a large clump of trees, or else on a straight tree that is right next to a pine tree. That way you still have cover around you even if you have to clip off a couple of branches to get the ladder up.

Look for some camo cloth blinds. I cut a piece and doubled it and tied it around my climber like a sniper tent. I also cut branches and stick them around my stand for scent and cover.

You could take a cordless drill and drill holes in the side of the tree andstick the limbs from an old artificial christmas tree in them, or ziptie them to the frame of your stand. How do you guys shoot a bow with a gunrest around the stand? can you adjust the height? Seems your lower limb would hit it.

I buy a few of those small U brackets (used to hold conduit or wire to a wall or something) and then cut some oaksbranches full of leaves. I use a couple of small nails or screws and the U brackets to attach the oak branches to the tree I am in. Very versatile as you can position them however you like and if you cut an oak branch it should hold its leaves all year. Conceal each treestand for a couple of bucks.

The rest is low enough that it is out of the way. I like having the added security of the front arm.

Now that's one good idea. I'll be doing that thanks. I have always whet to a crafts store and bought those leaves with the wire running thru it and twisted it around the ladder.

Now that's a good idea. I,ve seen those artificial limbs you can buy from Cabela's but they are WAY too expensive like 90$ or something. What a RIP
