100gr or 125gr broadheads (differences?)
 

Here's a good question for all the &quot;pro's&quot; out there... <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

I am shooting aluminum XX75's #2315 Easton arrows and have 125gr field tips. A buddy of mine gave me two thunderhead 100gr broadheads the other day to try out.

Is there a massive difference in 100gr versus 125gr? My PSE Centerflite lefty bow is 65# draw and 30&quot; draw length. I consistently hit the bullseye with the field tips at 12-15 yards when practicing in the backyard. Wouldn't a lower grain make the tip too light?

Can someone explain in layman's terms the differences in grain and trajectory? Thank you....

I ran your numbers thru the archery program and if you have a 29&quot; arrow with vanes , a 100 grain head is perfect for your set up as far as spine .A 30 inch arrow with feathers and a 125 grain head is under spined by quiet a bit . useing the lighter head will give you a flatter trajectory but so small I doubt you would notice .

- already set at 65# and 30&quot; draw (which is what I was measure at)
- bow came &quot;stripped down&quot; from the guy on Ebay.
* Tru-Glo lefty 3 pin sights installed by shop
* TM Hunter lefty arrow rest &quot; &quot; &quot;
* PSE Mongoose 6 arrow quiver
* 6 Easton Lite XX75 #2315 cut at 30.5&quot;
* 125gr field tips installed on arrows
* Crackshot 3-finger release
* Medium size round peep site (divides bow string to 3 sides)

Bow checked out fine by Green Top Sporting Goods here in town. The bow department took it, measured it, put it on a scale, put it in a vice, used all sorts of squares, and then had me stand there holding it at full draw while they checked my measurement and &quot;tweaked&quot; this and that afterwards. It's a great bow. Cost me about $100 bucks total to get it in shape, but I couldn't beat the price!
