Blind hunting question

My little brother and myself were sitting in his double bull blind, both had showered and sprayed down, same routine as always, but 2 does seemed to spook when they were downwind of us. My little bro says there was no way they scented us through the blind, but I'm assuming they did, anyone who hunts blinds regularly have any feedback, it was the only time I've ever hunted a ground blind.

Deer can smell you in a blind just like anywhere else, and if you were downwind, then yep they prolly sniffed you out.

DId you use the same scent protection on the blind itself?? Maybe the smelled your "handling" of the blind.

If you were on the ground I don't care what you did if the deer were downwind, they smelled you. If upwind I would say maybe they spooked at the sight of the blind itself. .02

they smelt your stinking breath. you shouldn't be hunting up wind of deer.

The blind was set up 2 weeks ago to let the deer get used to it being there, and it's a little tough to hunt any wind when you are at a dugout in the middle of a pasture, no natural funnels, the deer come from all sides.

yep, sounds like you got winded. In all honestly "scent-free" is a myth. Sometimes there is nothing you can do about it. Good luck.

Did you have the windows open on more than one side of the blind? If so then it would be very easy for your scent to get carried out of the blind.

All windows were closed but the shoot through screen had the breeze blowing across it.
