Rubbin' it in.....
For those of us who haven't yet had the opportunity to step into the deer woods with bow in hand (and for everyone else as well) I thought I would add a few pictures here to the forum to get the blood going a little. No, they aren't big buck pictures as I don't have that much of a digital zoom on my camera but it is the next best thing.....the sign of a buck being in the area. In other words, some nice deer rubs. I took these pics this past Sunday while taking one final scouting sweep of the general area that I am going to hunt.
The first two pics are of some rubs near my #2 stand which, incidentally, I found on Sunday while waiting for AAA to come tow my Kia out of a drainage ditch.
The next three pics are from rubs that I actually saw along the side of the road approximately 70 yards from the field that I have been seeing some nice bucks in all summer and early fall.
The last two pics are from rubs located right along the edge of the field that I mentioned above. All of them appeared within the last week or so as I didn't see them the weekend before when I was out in the area.
I hope you all enjoyed them and I wish you all the best of luck this season.
The next pics from me will have deer in them...

Tell us you weren't looking at a pretty girl again and ran off the road like you did with your bicycle a while back!!!
By the looks of things you might need AAA again....that is to help you drag your deer out!!!
Good luck my friend.

Frank yup you got me pumped and my blood pressure too. Man that is fun finding them in the woods. I just hope you get the one who made them.
Oh one more thing I was wondering, What bow did you decide to go with this year. I know you stated that you weren't going to go with the normals like hoyt bowtech or matthews. I probable missed it but what are you using this year. Good luck to ya.

That's great. Hope you get the one who is disturbing those trees. Bowseason opened today in Oklahoma. The last time I bowhunted Regan was the President. Please don't laugh but a few weeks ago I dusted off the (now old) Golden Eagle and started shooting a few arrows with my new 12 year old stepson. We went out this afternoon and I had the first shot at a deer with a bow in 15 years or so. Its not much to brag about but the old Eagle was screaming (tongue in cheek) at 207 fps pushing some of the "new" carbon arrows. Anyway this little deer is the first in a loooooonnnnnnnnnng time. She came by my stand instead of my stepson's but he was as pleased as I will be for him. We played tag for 90 minutes or so before I got the shot. I've killed many and larger deer but this was one of the most satisfying.
