Small Game Hunters
What heads, or combination of heads, do you use for small game such as rabbits and squirrels? I have some Judo points but was curious what other people use.

RE: Small Game Hunters
I've used blunts from saunders in the past with good results. I've also used old Satellite BH's. Don't use something you would like to retrieve.

RE: Small Game Hunters
I've used the rubber shocker points. They give quite a thumpto a rabbit. Also they don't bury to bad in grass when you miss.

RE: Small Game Hunters
I use judo tips myself but mostly i keep some older heads just like my deer heads and use them just resharpen.

RE: Small Game Hunters
I use rubber blunts, judos, steel blunts backed by steel washers... On my cedar arrows, a .38 or .357 shell casing with finishing nails stuck through the sides - kind of a homemade judo point. Ace has a newblunt called the Hexblunt that looks really good, but I haven't tried them yet.
![]() I've used the ol' Snaro point for many yearsfor hunting quail and mourning dove. |
RE: Small Game Hunters
Just remember if you shoot a modern high speed bow some of the home made stuff may be dangerous. A bow that shoots in excess of 250 fps may not digest washers and bullets as well as a recurve or long bow. Arrows do funny things when you get them out of balance at high speed like shoot wild or come apart. I shoot washers behind my field points on my T Q Bows recurve but would never do it in my BOWTECH PATRIOT.
