Success!
I am happy to say, I shot my very first bow deer on opening morning. Unfortuantly my husband left our camera at work, so I don't have any pictures of my doe. I was in my ground blind enjoying a nice and peaceful morning when two little does showed up to get my attention. I watched them for about 15 min. and sure enough a bigger one came in. I waited until she was within15 yards. She turned perfectly broadside, and I let the arrow fly. Got both lungs, she seemed stunned, then jumped and ran about 50 yards before crashing. We cooked the backstraps over an open fire at camp. Mmmm they were great!!! My dad who is my hunting buddy also got a doe this morning. We spent therestof theday todayfilling the freezer and fridge. The next couple of days will be spent making sausage, and brats. Then we will be out for more....hopefuly. [:-]

RE: Success!
That is just an all around GREAT story.
Pretty much sums up what hunting is all about.............enjoying the woods as the sun rises......making a great shot on what you are hunting..........and sharing the bounty, stories, and memories with your loved ones. I could read stories like that all day. VERY well done. |
