I seem to prefer the same gear the my favorite outdoor writers and hunting shows use.

Bow - Hoyt
Guns - Remington
Muzzleloader - Thompson center
Clothing - Scent Blocker
Camo - Mossy Oak
Knives - Camillus Cutlery
Broad head - Muzzy
Ammo - Remington
Arrows - Carbon Express

Whats your Choice and do you think that media helps influence you?

Bow - Shoot a Browning Tornado - but like Hoyt's and Mathews better
Guns - Benelli for shotgun - Tikka for rifles
Muzzleloader - I gots no muzzleloader - but will have an Encore by next season
Clothing - Cabela's
Camo - Mossy Oak or Advantage Wetlands
Knives - Buck
Broad head - Wasp Hammer SST
Ammo - Kent Faststeel - reloads for rifles
Arrows - Carbon Express

I don't think the media influences me in any way. I think that my hunting buddies influence me the most. We are always "competing" and buying new stuff, and once we give it a good test, if it meets our standards, which are pretty high, we continue to use it.

My choices are typically based on personal experiences however I do like to try what I see typically promoted on these forums.

Camo: Realtree

The media does more to help me decide what to avoid than anything else.

For me, I guess I'd have to a favorite list as.....

Bow - PSE (although I picked up aHoyt Ultramag and drooled)
Gun - Remington
Muzzleloader -Don't have one (....yet)
Clothing -Cabela's, Bass Pro, Dick's Sporting Goods,etc....
Camo -Realtree HD Hardwoods
Knives -Schrade (I still carry my dad's old 1973Schrade pocket knife everywhere I go)
Broad head - 125gr Magnus Stingers and 125gr Slick Tricks
Arrows - Easton XX75 Camo Hunters in 2315
Ammo - Remington

The media might help me out with different brands, but 99.999999% of it is allmass marketing schemes. I don't rush out and buy this, and this, and that, just becauseJackie Bushman and his ridiculous hunting show (is it a show or one long infomercial?!? [:'(]) are hawking all sorts of junk every 2-3 minutes on that dumb show! :eek:

I always perfered Trojan(ultra pleasure),Budweiser,chevy's,blondes(That dont talk much),Harley Davidson. Just kidding ,I'm still in the market for my first bow. I guess what ever fits me and my budget is the brand im going to get.

I used to be heavily influenced by what i saw on television, but you have to take in account that these guys and gals are paid to use and promote these products. I have seen very popular people change bow companies every year. As well as their equipment. So, pay attention to what they are using, but make your own judgement on which is best for your situation cause you are not being paid to use them.
