Well boys, I got my first deer with a bow yesterday. I have been hunting deer with a rifle for years, but never with a bow. I bought a bowtech allegiance 70# 30in draw and have been practicing all year. In all my previous hunting, I have always shot bucks, but they doe I shot with my bow yesterday had me smiling from ear to ear. My muzzy 125's in 3-blade went through behing the front shoulder exactly were I was aiming and went completely through the far front shoulder bone! It bent up some of the broad heads a bit, but they really did the trick. She went 20 yards and fell over. I am hooked on bow hunting and may not even gun hunt this year. 1 down, 2 archery tags left to fill! Now, if only the big 6X6 will come to the same 12 yard shot!!

Congrats on getting that first one, I've only had one myself, but this year I'm getting more serious and have 4 archery tags this year, hopefully I'll bat at least .500.

Congrats Luckyone. You'll have to change your screen name though. Bow kills don't usually come as LUCK. It takes practice and perseverence. Congrats on your hard work and straight shooting. Oh...and by the way.... WE GOT YA'!!! You'll never be the same again.:D:D You're one of us now and can't go back to the dark side.

I don't have any pictures of the doe, but here is the bruiser I will be looking for the rest of the year. This picture was taken towards the end of July. I can't imagine how big he is now!

Yep, completely understand. Sold all my deer rifles years ago. If I can be in the woods, it'll be with a bow!
