Default Moderators?

I know its a little off bowhunting, but I was wondering. How do you become a Moderator. I don't wan't to be one, trust me I do enough "moderating" at work.

There is a "moderator poll" every year and the memberspick someone to be a moderator. I'm pretty sure this is how it works, someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

I nominate cardeer for a moderator!! He has enough posts to be a mod!! Honestly though, I'm not sure what it takes to be a mod but if it was on post count then he'd be a sure bet, but if it was on post content, then he'd be banded from being a mod! haha Seriously Cardeer (if you're reading this), which I'm sure you are, you're well respected around here and I'm sure every one would love (but hate) to see you be mod. (hopefully no offense is taken to that!) It's late so hopefully this won't sound too harsh!

It's done on a suggestions from other mods if they are looking for any. If you were a mod you would have to move this thread as it is off topic and a rules violation.

...and in some cases folks volunteer and then the issue is discussed between mods and admin.

There's a big difference between quality posts and four- and five-word posts that run your post count up.
