The Lone Wolf sticks are great for mobility. I just use some heavy steel stationary sticks for my permanent stands......

But for ease of use and great gripping power, the Lone Wolf sticks can't be beat. The stand could use a little help though.... That seat sucks!!

The older I get the more I like the climbing sticks. The screws are tough on the shoulders screwing them in, but they still work nice on some trees. We've been using climbing sticks more often and leave them in all year.

I prefer Screw in Steps. Just my opinion though. I hate lugging in the Climbing Sticks.

I have both the strap on ladder sections AND the ladder that connects together. I use the screw-in steps 99% of the time.

The ladders are too heavy, noisy and cumbersome for me and I now use them in set locations and leave them there the entire season. My screw-in steps are always with me and get me into nearly any tree I want and they fit nicely in a small pack I have attached to my fanny pack. It's convenient and quiet for me.

I used to use the screw in steps but its a lot of work. I now use the API quick stick. you talk about light weight. and quick set up.They come with 4 quick grip straps that hold like crazy and belive me I weigh 250 lbs I tell you they hold tight. Plus we have trouble with thives stealing out stands so I take my sticks down when I'm going to beaway frommy stand for a while and the thives have no way of getting to it. I attach them to my tree stand using the quick grip straps and then use straps on my tree stand and backpack the whole package in when going to set up, this keeps my hands free to carry my bow, gun exct.
give it a try I bet you like it good luck MIke

I would go with ladder, personally. Get in there in the summer, haul that thing out there with a saw, and take out any branches you need to on any of your stands (except for ones in bedding areas). If you have no other choice, go with screw in steps. If you're stuck on one particular point, you can always take out one from your backpack and screw it in. Better than falling to your doom and cracking your neck in half.
