Ritual - Do you do anything symbolic after the kill

I guess there is really no other way to ask this besides just asking.

After field dressing the deer, does anyone else, place the buck's private area up in the crotch of a tree for good luck?

I had a discussion today with some non-hunter co-workers and this topic(don't ask how)came up.

I do not recall this ever being discussed on this thread, so I searched and did not find anything.

Then I searched the internet, and didn't see anything either.

So now that makes me think, have I been the only one that has been doing this all these years, or is it really a old Native American symbol for good luck?

If you're killing lots of monster bucks, then I can't blame ya a bit. Although, I don't think squirrels care too much for deernuts.:D

Never done that either. It generally lays wherever it lands after I throw it over my shoulder.

It may be an ancient native american sign that you're completely demented also ;)

haha, we always do that around here with all of out bucks. I just always thought of it as a joke, its something to laugh about when gutting the buck, and its a good way to show any hunters that may come through that area that you allready harvested their buck :D
