wasting arrows

Was down to 5 good arrows last week. Robinhooded one. Down to 4. Tonight came home to shoot. Shot 6 shots. Right. Another one down. Took awhile to break in the new string and cable but looks like I'm there. I normally don't stack them in the same target but had a lot of trouble breaking in the new string for some reason. Totally changed my sight and rest numerous times and still seemed a tad off. Finally started over and reset everything. I think I'm pretty close now. Now I need to beg Momma for some new arrows.

Great shooting! It's time for a 3 spot target or a big 10 point.;)

Nice shootin'. There is only one better way to lose an arrow and it will be here soon.

RE: wasting arrows

well, if you are gonna lose them in a non-hunting incident....thats the way to go....when i was sighting in my bow, i was using a crappy styrofoam walmart target and the bullseye was wore out so I was shooting at the back 4 small targets and I was shooting at the bottom left, it just happened to be next to my clothesline poll and it hit the metal pole, and broke the arrow off a couple inches....i would much rather have robin hooded the arrow and been sighted in, then lose an arrow and realize i got some more shooting to do...

I try to shoot a design into my target, like a smiley face, with the arrow placement. I hardly ever aim for the nock of a previous arrow. Too darn much $$$$.

Well with a little more practice, you should be stacking 3-4 arrows on top of one another consistently.;)
I dont shoot for the same spot, gets a little to expensive at $10-14 bucks apiece.Shoot your arrows on different spots on the target:eek:
Great shooting though,2 robbin hoods.Looks like you got everything broke in and ready to go.
Good luck this season:)

That's some nice shooting! Somewhat bittersweet when you shoot a robin hood and get excited but then later realize how much it just cost you. ;)

Nice shootin' there but you are right. It definitely can get expensive!

I pulled a Robin Hood once and I learned from it. I now only shoot one arrow and then retrieve that arrow or I shoot many arrows by aim a few inches to other parts of my target. Never had an issue with damaging another arrow after that first time.

Thats good shooting. I've done that six times and at about 12 dollars an arrow i decided that was the end of that and started shooting at more than one target.

P.S. I would save at least one of those so that you can prove you really did it.

I normally shoot at different rings but after resetting everything and trying to get it fine tuned I like to shoot one ring to get a better idea of grouping/flight. I've hit robinhoods in the past, not within a week of each other though, but generally try to salvage the 2nd arrow. It was kind of cool at first and still is a little but I would much rather have the arrows. [:@]
