Opening Day Today!!
Okay...so I got busted by a big old doe today. She snorted, and all the does ran away. No bucks out yet.
My question is this......Is that stand shot for a while, or am I okay to hunt it again on Monday? The doe didn't wind me....she saw something up in the tree she didn't like. I honestly think it was the afterburner light on my copper john sight that she saw and couldn't quite figure out. Any thoughts on that would be appreciated as well. Aside from that, it was a PERFECT day in beautiful North Carolina. Lots of squirrels, lots of birds, lots of mosquitos (none of whom could get through my Scent Lok!), nice breeze to help cool me off (85 degrees when I strapped-in, but the breeze was right in my face!). What'cha think about when I can hunt the stand again and the afterburner light...does it spook the critters????? Thanks! |
RE: Opening Day Today!!
Hello fellow tarheel. I also had a good day. I took a shot at a big fork and underestimated his distance and clipped some peanuts between his legs (no pun intended). Anyway, I don't think you have to worry about those does. I have had does spook and come right back in 30 minutes. I don't think they are very smart. Good luck on Monday. [/align] |
RE: Opening Day Today!!
Hey tarheel. The only problem you might incounter is on Monday that same doe will be watching your stand to see if anything is amiss.
Good luck, neighbor. I'm on the other side of Winston Salem here. |
