Another "which bow" to get...

Hey all,
I just sold my bow on ebay thinking I'd take another season to get another[&:]...I was wrong:). It's getting to that time of year and I can't help but think of hunting.
Anyway, my old bow was loud, heavy and not very good. I was looking at the CSS Swampmaster, Bowtech Tomkat or the Parker BuckHunter...not all in same price category. CSS is $650, Tomkat $570 and the PArker under $500. What I dislike about Parker is the dual cams (just based on the tuning issue).
Would like some input from anyone who shot any of these. I will be with whatever bow I get for a while...and I have only been able to shoot the Parker (other 2 are interent from huntersfriend).
Thanks,
Tim

Bought my Outback brand new a year and a ½ ago for $589..absolutely LOVE it! Now that the Switchback's are out (even though I still prefer the smaller Outback), you can get an OB rather cheap.

I used to get a new bow every year for at least the last 10 years but I got a Bowtech Mighty Mite VFT last year and I wont be getting a new one this year. Its the best shooting bow I have ever used without a doubt.

Since Hoyt isn't an option, go with the Bowtech.

I have shot the Tomkat on a few occasions. I even had a customer come into today to order one. Nice little bow for the price. It would be my pick out of the ones you listed.

Before I got my Outback, I shot a few Bowtech's at the local shop. I shot an Outback later than same day (same weight and length) and it (IMO) shot a lot smoother than the Bowtechs.

In the end, a cheap Golden Eagle will do the same damage as any high dollar bow. A close relation is like driving a Chevy or a Caddy'. Both do the same, but 1 has the name.

Thanks for all the responses...I have another to add to the list. Buckmaster G2, I am going to go shoot it today. I don't have a Mathews dealer around, so I am out on that one. I am trying to find a Bowtech someplace to shoot. The G2 is nicely set up for $480...

I know everyone is always talking about Bowtech, Mathews, and Hoyt but give Pearson/McPherson a look. Some great bows at decent prices. I shoot the Pride right now and know a guy over at www.benpearson.com that is selling his cheap because he has a handicap that would not let him shoot anymore. The bow is almost new and a great shooter. Just some food for thought. Get the one that fits you best, that is the best advice for you.

Good luck

I am with you there. I have the $ to spend, I just want the best bang for the buck. I do believe the big name manufactureres are that way as a result of advertising, and that is past on to the buyer. I am trying to find a shop around here that has a variety, but not too many around. I found out there is an archery club nearby, so I plan to stop by some time. My only problem is time is getting close to first release and I need to get used to the new bow.
Thanks
later.
Tim

How much is yuor buddy selling that pride for?
Is that a dual cam or a hybrif? If dual, is it a pain to tune?
Thanks again.

1 thing I like to do, is have another person shoot the bow...and just listen to it. I know when I'm shooting, I always "think" I hear a rattle..but nobody around me does. Heck, I've even had my g/f record me with her camera so I could watch my motion on tape, and then listen to the shot, and watch my follow thru. Helps a ton.

I may be eating crow here...but the only dealer within a good distance from me is an exlusive Mathews dealer. He has a new Q2 at $500...I thought it sounded kind of high, but I'm not sure. When was the last year for the Q2? Looks likea damn nice bow. He had Switchbacks too...they look okay I guess. :) Actually, it looks friggin awesome...but $750...can't see it being that good.

what uphunter15 said. They area hybrid type cam system and a breeze to tune. You won't find a better shooter for the money
