I think if you know that noone else is hunting that area, Hold off maybe till later in the season,, If you know there is a bigger one, and see what happends, But that is a pretty nice deer, I don't know if I could Pass him up,, I think I would take him...

:D What, are you kidding? There is no way I would pass him up. I don't have a buck like that under my belt yet...no matter what age he is.

He lookspretty much like the one I got last year, he was also 2 1/2 so I would say yes I would shoot him.

But I would say that it all depends on where in the country you are, what other bucks there are on your land, what your standards are and what you have on the wall already. You make the decision.

If you are retired, and have an entire season to hunt every day, I would hold off until later if there's another certain buck that you'd rather shoot.

If you're in the same predicament as me, where you have almost no time to hunt, you should shoot him the very second that he comes into range.

Were you to let him go early on, he will probably still be lingering around the same area later. But IMHO, that deer looks delicious. He'd be in a world of trouble if he walked within 30 yards of my stand.

You should definately let him pass ..... so I can shoot him!! Not many bucks in PA get to be more that 3 or 4 years old due to hunting, cars, sickness or injury etc ..., and the ones that do make it past 4, are usually nocturnal.
