I love the rain, and love hunting in it. I've done it a lot of times, and have been successful. But you can gaurentee, if it is a heavy rain, then the shot will have to be a gimmie, in order for me to take it. No need tracking a deer which falls within 60 yards of the shot.

A slight drizzle to a steady rain is awesome, if its starts pouring I get out though. Only bad part is you have to make a good hit and track fast because the blood will wassh away quick.

During the rut while bucks are scraping, they will vist their scrape after the rain to replentish it. Great time to be in te woods.

Don't mind it at all as long as it's not coming down in buckets. I think one of the best times tobe in the woods is right after the rain. If you're in your truck yet when the rain stops, run like hell to your stand. That buck will be coming to freshen that scrape. Not long after I had learned this it payed off. The drizzle stopped right when I got to my stand. One hour later the buck I wanted came by checking his line of scrapes.

Cool, light rain...I LOVE IT!

And if it becomes a heavy rain, then I just go into stalking mode.

I always keep my rain gear packed in the bottom of my backpack.

I also love hunting when its snowing too!

i hunt from dark to dark...rain or shine...unless trees start fallin' then i'll climb down...they way i look at it is i walk too far to climb down and i only get to hunt a few months out of the year so my happy butt's stayin' no matter what.

I like to do it if it is a reasonable drizzle or if it is off/on.Deer love moving in drizzles, and they will move during breaks in the rain.I have had good luck with it.You aren't crazy at all.I use one of those tree umbrellas.
