bow speed, doesn't anyone tell the truth?

I have seen some of the arrow speeds people claim to have out of all kinds of bows and alot of these people are saying that there speeds are higher than the ibo's from the manufacturer. keep it real people, speed kills but i'd rather have a slow hit than a fast miss!!!!! mathews legacy 70# 29"draw 510 grain 2315 xx78 ss 100gr point 245fps

yip i`ll take a heavy slow arrow over speed and light arrows any day.
but thats just me, and i don`t have a problem with 300 +FPS if thats what your into.
i`m at about 260 with close to 90 FPof kinetic energy.
works very well.

My legacy at 30", 63 pounds, shooting a 29 1/2" arrow at 410 grains shoots around 263FPS. Which is plenty fast for me. Im even planning on shooting a heavier arrow next year, but may crank the poundage a little.

HA! 26 inch draw, 54 pounds, 510 grain arrow, calculated at less than 200fps! Beat that! With a 342 grain arrow it was clocked at 242......This is an all custom bow, it has no IBO, but it was calculated at 310.

I thought you were talking about the manufacturer's claims that you see in the ads. I had mine chronographed at the pro shop this year and it was in the 250s somewhere. It's an older Mathew's Featherlite at 70lbs. I don't know the arrow weight - carbons with 100gr heads. However, there was another guy there whose bow shot around the same speed. He complained that the factory claimed over 300fps. He told me that most of these 300+ claims are way below in real life. He thought Mathews was the closest.
