New Rest Question
 

Hey guys,

I recently had a drop away rest put on my bow, Mathews FX. I noticed that my shot was moving and realized that the bow shop had mounted my rest onto the bow with one screw. The Mathews rest that I had on there also had one screw but it was machined so that it would rest up against the bow so that it wouldn't move. The new rest because it is machined to be mounted with two bolts moves.

Do they sell a bracket that can be put on my bow so that I can mount a two bolt rest onto it? Does my explanation of the problem make sense?

Tom,

I think I understand what you are saying. However, most rests on the market today do just attach with one bolt. Typically, if the rest is tigthened and set up correctly then the rest shoot not move. Have you tried simply tightening down the rest on your own?

The shop installed it for me. The rest is a "Rip Cord" and the part that attaches to your bow has two threaded holes but my bow only has one hole.

Hey Tom, are both holes the same size? If they are, they are for mounting at different distances from the arrow shelf. Most rests have a slot instead of machined holes. If it has a tiny allen screw towards the front, that is to lock the rest dowm after you have tightned the mounting bolt.

The guy at the shop ended up putting a slug screw in the other hole and tightening it down onto the bow. He claims that it shouldn't move again.
