Leaf River Pic - How big is this bear?

I got my first bear pics last week from PA. How big do you guys think this guy is?

Anyone w/ Photoshop able to lighten this up a bit so we can see him better? I know he isn't a small one, but not sure how big he really is.

Any thoughts?

Well...I tried making it a little easier to see. Not sure if it helped or not. Hopefully I'll see him during the season.:D

I'm no bear hunter but to me, it appears to be an immature animal. I maninly suspect this due to the fact that the bear lacks the full rounded belly and it's legs look "long". A mature boars legs look much shorter. My buddy has one pic of a WI giant that the locals suspect will weigh 600#! I'll try to grab the pic from him sometime and scan it.

To give you guys a reference on him, that is a 5 gallon bucket and there is 18" of dowel sticking out of the bottom. With this as a reference, it appears as if his head is about 36" high. Now that the pic is lightened up a bit, it is easy to see how large his ears are compared to his head, I am thinking about 180-200 as well. Anyone know how large their home territory is usually?

This bear is located in 3B, so this year I will have the chance to take a shot at him if given the chance during the first week of deer rifle season. ;)

I would tend to agree with the others. 200 seems like a fair estimate. It is hard to judge though in the poor lighting. The 5 gallon bucket does add some perspective to it.

He is at the good eating size. Unless you are looking for a really BIG trophy size bear or a different color...shot him. I shot one about this size two years ago and he was (is) tastie:D. My wife now considers bear to be the best wild game meat...followed closely by elk.

The bear looks to be a young male probly 2yrs old, Useing the bucket as a refrence I would say the bear is around 200# long legs and no belly tells me his young, Iam no expert but I did stay in a Holiday Inn last night,,,,,,:Dbut yeah, I belive it's a young male..
