Who thinks baiting/feeders/canned hunts our wrong?
Now i posted this in Deerhunting too. But thought i would get peoples opinions in here. Like i said in the one on deerhunting this is not to get back at anyone. I was kicked off my bowhunting team cause i called a guy a poacher cause in his trail cam pics there was a feeder. And i consider hunting over bait, feeders, and fenced in hunts as poaching. Now i know there was a post a while ago that people really got into it. Im not wanting that on this post i just want to see who thinks baiting/feeders/canned hunts our wrong thats it.

RE: Who thinks baiting/feeders/canned hunts our wrong?
I think that Canned Hunts (High Fenced, small enclosures, drugged deer) ARE wrong.
|
RE: Who thinks baiting/feeders/canned hunts our wrong?
I think poor spelling "our" wrong... ;) But thats just me... And this is in no way associated to the fact that you were once on my team.... Go out and stick you a big one anyway! (and learn to spell)

RE: Who thinks baiting/feeders/canned hunts our wrong?
I didn't vote and I won't. but any form of legal hunting is OK by me. If the only way you can hunt is to go to an en-closer than so be it. Now don't read any more into than that. Just because I might condone something doesn't mean I approve of or would do it.
If it's legal then hunt anyway you want too. |
RE: Who thinks baiting/feeders/canned hunts our wrong?
Thanks ninerpilot i wasnt tryin to start anything with him just voicing my opinion now i know i spelled that wrong. Playin Halo 2.:D

RE: Who thinks baiting/feeders/canned hunts our wrong?
I dont think canned hunts are right at all. So thats what i voted for.
|
RE: Who thinks baiting/feeders/canned hunts our wrong?
I voted canned hunts are wrong.
I've got no problem with anyone who baits deer or hunts over a feeder. Not my first choice of hunting methods, but if it's how someone else wants to do it and it's legal, then go for it. |
RE: Who thinks baiting/feeders/canned hunts our wrong?
what are canned hunts?
|
RE: Who thinks baiting/feeders/canned hunts our wrong?
I voted against canned hunts. However, you try coming to Texas and hunting without a feeder or bait of some type. The deer just will not come out of the brush without some incentive.

RE: Who thinks baiting/feeders/canned hunts our wrong?
So where's the option to vote that baiting/feeders/"canned" hunts are 'right'? I mean, what kind of stupid poll is this anyway? Rather one sided, don't you think?
How about a poll about what's right or best in hunting rather than what's wrong with it? Why are so many hunters so focused on negatives? |
RE: Who thinks baiting/feeders/canned hunts our wrong?
canned hunts are for the rich[:'(]you should just go to your local petting zoo i consider it being the same, without the high price tag.

RE: Who thinks baiting/feeders/canned hunts our wrong?

RE: Who thinks baiting/feeders/canned hunts our wrong?
ADD boy
I dont think any of them are wrong. I believe deer, hogs, cows, carrots etc were put on this earth as food. We hunt and kill them for entertainment. I have killed wild hogs with a rifle, bow and arrow, with a knife while a big mean dog had ahold of its ear and with a .22 pistol while it was in a trap. Sometimes I like it difficult, sometimes I like it easy. No means ofharvesting a food sourceis right while another is wrong. You and the law have to be the ultimate guardian of your morality. I personally do not hunt over feeders much but have no problem if you do. I hunt food plots if the deer are coming to them. Natural food sources if they are not. I just walk right up to carrots and yank them out of the ground. If you want to fumble around blindfolded with your legs tied together to make it more sporting for the carrotsthats great. Just don't impose your morality on me. Ps You need to look up the word poaching. It is generally considered to be the illegal taking of game. Illegal being the key word here. |
RE: Who thinks baiting/feeders/canned hunts our wrong?
Wow. Kicked you off the team for your thoughts?[&:]
|
RE: Who thinks baiting/feeders/canned hunts our wrong?
If it is legal in that paticular state than it is not poaching. This post will go no where, it has been drug to the gorund many times. If you want to pull off something old than pull off your briefs. You sound bitter about the team and all.

RE: Who thinks baiting/feeders/canned hunts our wrong?
I have not been on this forum for long, and for the part enjoy to conversation and learn new things, but when I see posts like this, it concerns me. You know what they say about opinions, evryone has one. But to get upset in our sport about someone else's opinion and make a post like this polling for negative information can back fire, big time. Are you a serious hunter ADD Boy? Because if you are, you can seriously hurt the future of Hunting with posts like this. As remember, it is not just Hunters and archers that can come here and read this information. Organization's like PETA and others can take this and use against us. They will manipulate what is said to fit their purpose and make it look like even hunters are against hunters. ( they do it anyway, but this just gives them more fuel. I have my own opinions regarding all the things you ask about, but if I don't agree with it, I just don't do it. If it is legal, then so be it. Here is an example of how it can backfire on you. In NJ many years ago, there was discussion about broadheads and size and even hunters were discussing ( some arguing over what the minimum should be ). Well PETA came up with the Idea not to stop bowhunting, but to make the use of a Razor sharp arrow poins illegal. They were getting allot of support and without allot of folk realizingf it, could have ultimately banned Bowhunting in the state, not by going after the sport, but one small, but very critical part of it, Had the United Bowhunters and the NRA not stepped in, they may have won that battle and we as archers would have lost. This is a very short version, there is allot more to this story, but the point is, your difference in opinion in what is and wrong is your opinion and other may have the same opinion, but when you try to work on what you think is Negative about the sport, beaware there are others out there who can take that and use it to go even further and eliminate things later, that you do not feel are bad, but they do. Use caution when focusing on what you think is wrong. Most TImes it it better for the masses if you work on what is right and help that grow.

Do you want me to post the pics of the deer iv killled Big game hunter? Sure but you'll just find some "reason" not to. |
RE: Who thinks baiting/feeders/canned hunts our wrong?

RE: Who thinks baiting/feeders/canned hunts our wrong?
Ps You need to look up the word poaching. It is generally considered to be the illegal taking of game. Illegal being the key word here. And big game hunter this is my button buck the one in the snow and in the red truck. And the other one in the green truck was my doe i got last season. Iv been hunting for about 3 years technically 5 but that was with my dad and i dont consider that hunting cause if it wasnt for him and his drinking and drugs i could of gotten a deer those seasons. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
RE: Who thinks baiting/feeders/canned hunts our wrong?
"And for the people sayin im hurting the hunting community for voicing my opinion on how i was raised and what i belive in im not. Its just that what i belive in."
As you say above.... Exactly... Read your own words. It is how you were raised and what you belive in. There are others that were raised differently and believe in different things. It does not mean it is wrong. Maybe in your eyes it is and that is fine. But in others, it is legal and it is the way they were raised or they believe. I did not say you were hurting anything, What I said was be careful. As there are folks out there that will use it against you. They may start with Canned hunts and making those illegal ( you would be happy ) when they succeed there, they will make baiting Illegal ( You will be happy ) then when they have the momentum. They will make Bowhunting illegal. Will you still be happy? If they succeed there, then Muzzleloader, then rifle, then no hunting. You may say it will never happen. It has happened in europe and can happen here. I have nothing against your opinion. I am just asking that you use caution when starting issue's that could have a bad affect for everyone in the long run. We will never all agree on anything. Each has their favorite bow, broadhead, arrow, treestand, way of hunting. It does not make it wrong. It is just different from what we do or believe. First try to understand where others are coming from and try to find the positive, instead of jumping right to a poll like this looking for the negatives of things you do not believe it. that is all I am asking. THere is a qoute out there " Seek first to understand, Then, be understood " Did you ever stop to look at it from how someone else may have been raised. |
RE: Who thinks baiting/feeders/canned hunts our wrong?
A.D.D Boy, how old are you. From the looks of those pics you look older than I thought. I pictured you as10 or 11.

RE: Who thinks baiting/feeders/canned hunts our wrong?
If the law says it's ok, then it's ok. I love these guys that bad mouth guys that bait and hang feeders, then go sit along the edge of a corn field or soy bean field. What about a food plot...same thing. Bait brings them closer so you can make a closer more ethical shot.

RE: Who thinks baiting/feeders/canned hunts our wrong?
I will not even vote on this because it doesnt give more options for what is right.I beleieve that if hunting a certain way is legal in the state you live in then you have every right to hunt that way.I read what you wrote to be kicked off of your team adn i agree a 100% with there decision to do what they did.You need to understand what is right and what is wrong and how to say what you feel.To me this thread is a way of getting back for your being kicked off of the team. You mentioned it in your original thread on this issue. So yes it does have something to do with it.If I was the moderatorI would delete this post and delete you.You are starting crap in this forum and it will only cause more problems and hard feelings.
Get a dictionary and look up poaching then post the deffinition then read it again and think about what it says.I live in a state where baiting and such is illegal.I do not hunt that way but I find nothing wrong with it as long as it is legal form of hunting in that particular state. As for you getting your first deer last year good for you.But you need to stop and think about what you say in your posts before you say it.You got what you deserved................. |

Let's move on to more productive things to argue about[:-] |

RE: Who thinks baiting/feeders/canned hunts our wrong?
Hunting to me is scouting, planning, using extreme stealth to slip in to a deer's living room undetected, and working hard for the one single deer. |
